Filing I-864 with I-485 and I-765

Hi,

My husband immigrant with a K1 Visa and I are filing paperwork for his permanent residence and we're a bit confused with the I-864.

I am the US Resident sponsor and he is the immigrant, from Taiwan. I believe he would be considered the household member.

In Part 4 of the form, it asks for the Household member's tax and financial information, but he is not working since he does not yet have a work permit and we're filing that application I-765, with this and the I-485.

I would think that Part 4 should be filled out by me, the sponsor, who has the full time job and financial backing to support my partner.

If this is the case, then I'm able to provide the tax and bank statements showing my financial support along with the application.

Hi

I am currently also filling out form I-864 for my fiance from Indonesia. She too is here on a K-1 Visa. I had the same question you did because I also listed her as Family Member 1. Which is NOT correct. If she is listed as the principle immigrant, she is not considered an additional family member'. Otherwise the total number of people on the I-864 would be three, and not two (its only you and him). Hope that helps
