Hi there,
I am a US citizen engaged to a UK citizen. I am currently employed in the US, and intend to stay. He is a PhD student, who intends to complete his PhD in early 2018, but will reside in the UK while doing so. We would like to get married and reside together in the US within the next year. I am hoping to find some information on what some of the best strategies for us might be so that:
1) We can get married and start the immigration process for him to immigrate to the US.
2) He can still reside in the UK while he completes his PhD.
3) He can still enter the US to visit me and attend work-related meetings/ conferences while we wait for his application to be approved.
I know that contacting an immigration lawyer is the best approach, however, I would like to get a better understanding of different options (e.g. K1, K3, CR1, etc) before I do so.
Thanks so much
