I've read on various websites that the K3 visas are obsolete or rarely approved. Does anyone here have any information or experience with it? Thanks

K3 obsolete?

You can still apply for a K3 visa by submitting I-129F after you have receipt Notice of Action for the I-130, but your submittal will be ignored in favor of the I-130. It's hard to say why USCIS continues to allow K3 references on its form instructions, but trying to apply is a waste of effort.
