NVC Security check: a wild card

Dear All,

My wife's K-3 case was approved and sent to NVC three months ago. Still it hasn't done with the security clearance by the related agencies in the State Department. Each time I inquire about my the status. The reply is always the the same: "it hasn't done ... there is no timeline". As a matter of fact, most of the people i know of have finished this process within 3 months and don't understand why it take so long for mine. Does anyone know if this security clearance is to investigate my wifeA(benificiary)'s background or me? If is to check up my wife, since she is in China, how can a US agency check a foreign citizen's history? Anyway, I'm very much frustrated with this delay and try to figure out what's happening. Thank you for sharing the similar experiences if you have.

it happened to me same

sometimes it takes even years.I have been waiting 168 ddays. I have newborn twins and I was not be able see them yet. it is frustraiting but nobody cant do nothing about it. I hope you hear something soon.

What security check is this? When is it done? My wife's I-130 was approved and I have sent back the DS3032 and the $70 fee for the Support application. They said that this week they would send the next paperwork that requires a $380 payment. When does the security check get done?
