I'm a US citizen and recently married (civil ceremony-outside of Israel) to an Israeli. We are actually on our honeymoon to return to Israel in 2-weeks. We plan to live in the USA but I must complete my conversion process while in Israel so that we may marry Jewish. I will enter Israel on a tourist visa which is only for 3-months. Therefore, we will have to go to the Ministry Office with our marriage certificate so my Visa can be extended so I can remain in Israel.
However, as I stated we want to live in the USA. Will I be able to file the paperwork for my husband to go to the USA while my immigration paperwork is being processed in Israel? Which Visa will need to be filed for my husband to go to the USA with me? Also, is there a separate visa that can be filed so that he may return with me to meet the rest of my family in the USA-with no intent to stay as my conversion process will take at least another 4 months in Israel.
What can I expect at the airport upon returning to Israel on a Tourist Visa. Since he will enter through Passport control on the Israeli side and me on the foreign side, do we divulge at this time we married or is there a chance they will separate us for us to conduct the paperwork apart from one another making me to return to the USA?
As most, we wish not to be separated and complete all necessary applications while being together.
Also, is there any part of the process I can begin completing now even though we are not in the USA?
Thank you for your time. The process is a bit overwhelming so thank you for helping me understand.
Shalom,
SHCY
