Legal name change of Ukranian fiance

Hi:

I am a US citizen bringing my fiance under a K1 Visa. We have a question regarding a name change. Will there be a problem by not changing her name to mine here in the US? I hear that is a problem to get your kids in school, hotel reservations, booking flights and other inconveniences like that. She owns property in the Ukraine and in Ukraine changing her last name is difficult mainly because of the time to get your documents in order. They have an international passport and a national passport. They both are somehow bounded to long times to get issued. The issue relies mainly on the Ukranian side. Any advice if we should get her name changed or leave it as it is.

This is a common problem faced by many international couples. Having a different last name is not a difficulty at all for all practical purposes. In fact it is rare for international couples to change the name after marriage, for all the reasons you just mentioned.
