do I need a police certification from the USA for a k1 VISA?

I am from Mexico, I lived in the USA for 2 years 3 years ago (with an J1 VISA) I am applying for a K1 VISA . I already have my police certificate from M?xico.
Do I need a police certificate from the USA ?

For K-1 applicants, a US police certificate is not required.
They've already done background checks on you when you petition the I-129F.
