Help, Question regarding co-sponsor of fiance visa

Please help, my fiance and myself have applied for my fiance visa in the US. I am an Indian citizen who will be going through the interivew in Delhi, India. She is currently in B-school (MIT) and cannot be the sponsor since she had been working wither Dad till now and actually drawing an income. However, we would not like to use her parents as co-sponsors since our relationship is strained and i dont want to ask them for any help.

We would like to go aehad by using my father's friend as a co-sponsor who is a USC< respected academician and has more than ample income to show sponsorship.

But I have heard from one person that having only a co-sponsor is dangerous and in India, consullates are rejecting suh cases, please tell me if anyone knows of this and whetehr this is true???????

What other option do I have for this?

Anyone who is maintaining a valid status in the US cabn become a co-sponsor but the affedavit of support has to be notarized in the US by your fiancee.
