  • I-134 Questions

This is for a K-1 visa, Philippines.

Our Petition has been approved by the USCIS/NVC. Now that Manila has the application and is about to schedule the interview, I need to prepare my Affidavit of Support and other documents for my fiancé's interview in the Philippines. I really hate filling out government documents and always read more into the simple questions. Well, i think I am becoming a nutcase.

    I-134 Question 10:

    10. That I have submitted visa petition(s) to the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) on behalf of the following person(s). if none, state none.

Now, I have never done anything like this before. So I would think the answer should be "NO". However, even though my fiancé's information is placed on question 3, which is the purpose of completing the form in the first place, to me it just seems redundant to write her down again in box 10. So now I am wondering if it is just asking have I ever filled this out for anyone else or if they want that information twice?????

On the I-134, Question 11 (quote):

    11. That I (box) intend (box) do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person(s) named in item 3. (If you check "intend," indicate the exact nature and duration of the contribution. For example, if you intend to furnish room and board, state for how long and, if money, state the amount in United States dollars and state whether it is to be given in a lump sum, weekly, or monthly, or for how long.)

To me this is almost saying that I plan t kick her out or get a divorce etc. It seems to me that if you say "no" then the visa is denied. If you say yes, well, you have to write down dollar amounts and other specific things.

    Any suggestions out there?

There was another thread about this, but it was over 2 years old, and I believe that the document has changed the questions, but I am not sure.

And finally: Question 7: I thought I read somewhere that certain informatin for a K-1 visa application was not needed, if your over a certain amount of income. I am, but I can not find that link. Questions 7 asks for such things as how much your personal property is worth, life insurances, cash value of the insurances, how much is your real estate vauled, amount of mortage on it etc. Does that really need to be answered? My gross is $80,000.

I would appreciate any help or advice out there!

    Thank you!
