I do not know if this will help or not, but it sounds like we are not that far apart.
The NVC approved our petition in early August, after letting it collect dust for roughly 10 days. The petition has been sent and received by the Embassy, in the middle of August. No additional paperwork is needed at the NVC level for a K-1 Philippines visa. Sometime after the Embassy gets the application, and after several thick layers of dust have settled down, the Embassy will send information to both you and the fiancé(e). This could be 1 month or as much as 5 or even 6 months. With the efficiency of the Manila embassy, you will probably need to kick your feet up for a while.
On the good side of things, now you have a lot of time to prepare all the stuff you need for the Medical Exam, CFO seminar, and Embassy interview.
The NVC, listed on their website, has a toll-free telephone number that you can call to find out if they have forwarded the Petition to the Embassy, and when they did so. CALL THEM, can't hurt. Now, getting information form the embassy is kind of like pulling your own teeth. They have a telephone number on their web site, that after paying $18.00 (US), they will give a 'pin' number that is good for 3 call attempts. After the NVC say that they processed your petition (takes roughly 2 weeks) and after another 2 weeks after that goes by, give them a call and make sure that they have your proper Philippines address. Somehow they screwed up my fiancé's address and I have gone nuts trying to correct their error. (They wont do it, even though they have the forms and it is clearly a simple omission.) Corrections can only be done by fax, which is difficult to send here, because the Embassy is closed when businesses with fax machines here, are opened.
The Embassy got our petition on August 15. Still no activity since then.
Give the NVC a call, can't hurt.
