Hello:
I am a recent petitioner for the fiancee visa. We discovered a couple of things recently. The spelling of my fiance's last name from her birth certificate differs from her current non-US passport name by a couple of letters. The name essentially reads the same in the native language. We have submitted the name with the passport name in the application. Now that the USCIS is asking for the birth certificate etc, is this cause for concern? WOuld it be wiser to file an amended application with the difference in the last name noted? Are there any other procedures one can take? If you've experienced something similar, I would appreciate hearing how you handled your situation.
Thank you, and good luck to all.
