Hi,
My I129F fiancee visa was approved by CIS December 26 2006, and my understanding was that it would be sent next to the NVC for two to four more weeks of processing before being forwarded to the US Embassy in Nairobi (my fiancee is Kenyan). Just after getting the approval notice, I found out that my fiancee got a new P.O. Box, so the contact information I provided for her in my application was outdated. I called CIS and they told me to fax the updated information to the NVC. I faxed this information to the NVC on January 9, but then got a letter back dated January 19 that the NVC cannot locate my petition. As of yesterday, they still say they have no record of my application on file. In the letter they sent me, it asks for me to include a copy of my Notice of Action showing that the petition has been approved and was sent to the NVC. Somehow I've lost that one piece of paperwork, so I contacted CIS, and they told me to file a I-824 application for them to resend the approved application to the NVC. I did this, but now it appears that they're only processing I824 applications from last summer, and I'm out $200 over a CIS/NVC screw-up. So, I called CIS again this afternoon but this time got a different story. The lady told me that the approved application should have been sent directly to the US Embassy in Nairobi and that I should contact them to see if they have the application, update my fiancee's contact information, etc. I can't believe this lady at CIS is right, but I don't know what else to do at this point but try to contact the Embassy, since the NVC can't tell me anything, and CIS keeps giving me a different story. Any advice? Thanks.
Not so patiently waiting,
Michael
