J-1 student marrying a USC--Help!
I am currently a J-1 student and planning to apply for the waiver this July. My DS-2019 form for the student status will expire in Sep. 2008. In the meanwhile, I am getting married to a citizen in this July also. Since the waiver and green card application will both take some time. Can I still register in the University if my DS-2019 form expires while I am waiting for the green card? Can I legally enroll in the school as a student when my case is pending? I heard that somebody waited for several years to get the I-485 approved. What could they do during the waiting time? Does that mean that they can do nothing but wait, or they can go to school or work with a EAD? I am really confused. I want to finish my study when I am waiting. Thanks a lot.
