how long shd i wait for my greencard for fiance?

i came to us may2005 as k1 then married my fiance after a month.. we wer interviewd at the immig on aug 2005.. emplyment authorization was granted but up to now still waiting for my permanent residency card.. is it really that long? if anyone knows d duration please let me know.. thanks.
i want to go back to my own country too to visit my family.. is it possibile while my case is pending? will it affect the process of my application?

I've heard of people who got their greencard after 4 months. Check the status of your application online, or pick up the phone and call the USCIS

You can't - you need to apply for advanced parole, otherwise there's the assumption you dropped your request for residency.

thanks for ur qick reply but i already checkd the status it says.. in process.. i even sent them letter asking what is taking so long.. but they said the same thing.. doas it affect the country where i came from? i have a brazilian friend she said she got hers after 3 months..im from the philippines..
advanced parole? am i eligible for that?
