I have a question, my Fiancee was approved and she is coming to US. now they said she has 90 days to marry me. I would like to know is the 90 days when she moves to US or when she got her visa approved? Because she was to stay in japan a little longer and then fly to her country to be with her family for 2months.

But you DO have 6 months (from the visa issue date) until you absolutely have to enter the US.....and then another 90 days to get married.....I wouldn't call that "having to drop everything", isn't almost 9 months until the marriage enough time....?Originally posted by DaytonaFiremedic90 days from the date of entry at a US port. It doesn't seem fair I know, they make you wait and wait , you can't make any travel arrangements, and then you finally get approved and have to drop everything, get on a plane and go get married. They should make it 6 months minimum instead of the 90 days. Goodluck

I still don't see that it's such a big problem. Many preparations could be done from abroad already, and isn't the most important thing that you can finally get legally married after all the waiting for the visa, etc.? Who would want to wait another 6 months until the weddingOriginally posted by DaytonaFiremedicNo because the bottom line is you only have 90 days here in US to do all the plans, not to mention getting to know all your new soon to be family. It would be more fair if it were 6 months and 6 months instead of 6 months and 90 days. You dont have to use the whole 6 months , but it would be nice to have it if you need it.
(By the way, I got married 16 days after entry.....)
No, as long as you have other proof of a bona fide marriage (e.g. joint accounts, utility bills in both names, insurances, photos of the two of you, etc.)Originally posted by gie06Question: would it be a problem if we can only show signed marriage certificate in USA but we have never had a wedding party during I485 interview?
