marriage license?

after receiving the k1- visa, do we still have to apply for a marriage license in order to get married?

Yes.

The K-1 is a visa that allows you to enter the US with the intention of marrying. But it is NOT a legal marriage binding document.

You need to go to your local courthouse of probate judge office and bring your fiance, documents of ID, and apply for a marriage license. (It takes like 20 minutes and around $ 30.)
