  • K1 Processing - So long!

I filed I-129F and got I-797 to VSC more than 140 days ago. It is still in processing. Why does it take so long now? I understand that the processing time becomes much longer than before due to huge amount of applications. Can anyone share his/her experience? Thanks.

    k-1 processing -so long

Petitions for k-1 fiance(fiancee) visas usually takes between 3 to 6 months, assuming that all documents are in order and no additional information is needed from the petioner. If more documents or info is required it could take alot longer, and also depends where you from(State) and from what country your fiance (fiancee)is.There are no shortcuts as far as processing times is concerned. You simply have to wait until they notified you if your petition was approved or denied.

    Good luck
    God bless.

      Approved after 150 days.

The K1/2 application was approved by VSC on 11/02/07 after 150 days.

As of first week of Nov. 2007, the approval time for I-129F for K-1 visa at VSC is 125-days (i.e., NOA1 to NOA2). So, check with USCIS customer service. Here, NOA1 is your K-1 acknowledgement letter and NOA2 is your approval notice.

we went to see an immigration lawyer this week and she showed up the current official waiting times - applications from april are currently being dealt with, so basically its a 6 month wait before it even goes to the alien embassy. so all in all, its around a 9 month total time at the mo. not nice!!
