  • Applying for a B2 visa,when K1 in process

    Hi,

I am from India. We have applied for my k1 visa. It's been a month.

    My questions:
1.I want to apply for a B2 tourist visa.Given my credentials(single, software engineer, potential immigrant) in case I get rejected, will it hamper my k1 chances?
    2. What all can I provide to assure that I intend to return and take the proper approach.
    3. Is there a USCIS policy on this?

I know these questions have been asked innumerable times.

I have also looked at it on

    Please advise.

    Thanks,

It will be VERY hard to get a visitor visa when you have filed for a K-1. Like you said, you are an immigrant risk and because you could potentially marry in the US and stay there (file for AOS) the chances of you getting a B-2 visa are slim.

If you have strong ties to your country, you could apply for one... but, since your plans are to move and live in the US within a year... (because of the K-1 visa) that will be very hard to prove.
