K1 - Evidence of Support - Sponsor Bails on us :(
My fiancee is the US petitioner and is on a low income wage. She has two dependent children and recieves child support from her ex.
I'm at the point pre-interview with the London Embassy where we are required to provide Evidence of Support and our sponsor has bailed on us.
My fiancee pulls in around 20000 USD including the child support but the 125% guideline is around 5000 more. I was under the impression we could cover this through proof of my personal assets (around 40K UK Pounds = approx 80K US Dollars, once the house here has been sold) I'm currently on 19K a year Network Support position and expect to get a job fairly quickly once out in the US and the AOS is complete (if we get that far!)
Apparently my fiancee still needs to fill in a I-864 regardless as she is the US petitioner and our original sponsor has bailed on us - can anyone confirm this?
I've been through the medical early and have all the other docs ready - the financial side of things is just driving us to despair
