I would appreciate if anyone can help me with H4 to F1 conversion
I am in H1B and my 485 has been applied, I have EAD but I am not yet past 180 days from 485 filing. My wife who is here on H4, is not able to join my application due to retrogression. She in interested in pursuing masters and has a good chance of getting assitantship/financial aid when she applies. We are thinking of pursuing F1 option because of instability with my work and since my wife would be able get financial aid. Given this I have the following questions.
1. Is it a disadvantage/risky to convert from H4 to F1 that too when you go for stamping.
2. Do we need to apply with INS here for a change of status or simply go to say Canada and apply for a F1 visa with the I-20?
3. If my PD becomes current and if my wife has changed to F1, is there any restriction in her filing 485 to join my application?
Appreciate any advise on these issues.
