  • Planning to get married...Need advice for filing I-130

Hi, I am a U.S citizen and am planning to marry an Indian Citizen in few weeks. Here are few questions that I need help with:
    1) I am going back and forth wheather to hire an attorney to file I-130?Process seems to be self explanatory and am leaning towards going on my own...please advice
    2) I will be staying in India for One month after marriage and to expediate the processing time, I wanted to just mail the I-130 paper work directly to the U.S (Texas Service) from overseas (India). Is it even adviceable to send the application in the overseas mail or should I just wait to get back to the U.S and then apply for the spouse visa?
    3) Any guess as to how long of processing time takes for spouse visa (I-130)?
    Thanks in advance...

1.) No lawyer is needed, it is pretty straight forward. Here is some info: https://www.immihelp.com/family-base...on-procedures/
2.) Just mail it from the USA to avoid any problems.
    3.) From 8-10 months.
