Does the spouse last name needs to be changed prior to applying for I-130?

Hi,
I am a U.S. citizen and got married in India. My spouse has her Indian passport with her maiden name. Now, I am completing I-130 form for her and my question is, can I put her maiden name just as shown on the Indian passport? or Do I need to apply for the name change including her passport and then complete the I-130? Will authority ask her why the last name was not changed? hmmm
