  • Fiance Petition - Vermont

I have written before, but hope that someone else has experienced the same as I have. We sent our application from Texas to Vermont, unregistered, on November 27. We are not sure if they got it or not, as the money order has not been cashed. The USCIS website indicates 2 things: (1) they are behind, the mail room is full and it may be some time before they get caught up and we receive a receipt; (2) they are caught up on all applications, but the 130 and Naturalizations.

So, we sent a registered letter asking if they have received our package or not. I cannot call the 1-800 number from Canada and my fiance has tried several times to get through, however to no avail. I am not sure if they will respond to the registered letter or not.

It seems to me that applications sent to California are getting receipts indicating that they were received way before the ones being processed in Vermont.

    Any replies?
    Thanks

I filed I-130 in mid-October and just about ten days back, I got the receipt notice. Does that help?

      Receipt of Application

It does help to know that other people are waiting so long. I was just about to cancel our $$ order and send in another application. Guess that won't help, I thought that maybe our package was lost in the mail - not lost in the mail room, lol.

      Thanks again

Funny thing is that I got the receipt notice but the number still does not appear in their system. I called to enquire about that and the lady I spoke with was very rude. I asked why you sound so irritated and she hung up on me.
