Dear Immihelp,
Firstly I'd really like to thank you for your absolute ealth of information on your site and on the amazing jb that you did compiling it! Really, without your site myhusband and I would still be in the very early
and confused stages of our K3 visa process.
I have one question though that I couldn't find an
answer to on your site or anywhere else really.
Perhaps I am not looking it up correctly.
My husband's visa is currently being held hostage in
Macedonia while awaiting a background check. Story
short, my husband lived in the UK for 5 years under a
different last name - not illegally just under a
different last name. The police certificate that was
issued to him by the UK was issued under his original
last name. He was told by his interviewer that this
needed to be checked and that my husband would hear
back within a week. 2 months later, we are still
waiting. My question to you is if you know how long
these type of background checks usually take? I've
bombarded the embassy with questions but they point
blank refuse to give me a timeline of any sort.
Please help! Anything that you could say would be of
great assistance to someone that is getting zero
answers from anywhere.
Also, if there is some way that I could help your site
by contributing my experience or just in general, I
would be more than happy to return the favor!
