  • Anyone filed for a K-3 Visa for thier spouse

    Hello everyone,
I filed the I-130 form Jan. 24 '08 to Chicago lock box, received receipt Feb. 22,'08 and sending I-129F form to Vermont today via DHL. Has anyone out there done this so far??, and if so, please share your progress. how long does Vermont Service Ctr. keep petition, and how long till they took to send to NVC for further processing?? Im just trying to find a time schedule. Its so hard being away from husband who is in Paris France. Just hoping to end this coming Summer with husband here at home with me in Houston, Tx.
Thank-you for any assistance you can give me.
    Beth

Filed I-130 and K-3 for spouse

Beth, I completely understand your frustration. I am also in the same situation.

I filed the I-130 in late August 2007 at California Service Center. I received the I-797 Receipt Notice in mid-October and immediately filed the I-129F thereafter. I received the I-797 for the latter on 10/17/08. Since then, my applications have been pending.

Also, I noticed "JeanLouis1" received her approval notice for a Fiancee I-129F application in early March 2008 when she had filed in November 2007. However, the processing times for Vermont Service Center currently have a date of 8/19/07 for applications just completed as of 2/15/08. Are those processing times correct?

Anybody else have thoughts, advise, and experiences on the waiting times?

      Processing Times

      Cincy,
Do Not go by the processing times listed on USCIS website, they will only frustrate you even more. With some of the approvals listed on Forum such as by Jean Louis, I think processing times are faster then ever. Vermont seens to be leading the pack on processing. I hope to have some word by the latest end of April. But for now, I'm in the mits of preparing my paperwork for NVC and the embassy, so there will be not delay in waiting.
Plus it keeps me busy to keep me from going insane.
      Best of Luck!!

            i-130 & 1-129 approved

            Hi Cincy and all members

Probably they will process your case very soon. I received my NOA1 for 1-130 on 9/27/07 and my NOA1 for I-129F on 10/10/07. Today, I received NOA2 for both the I-129F and I-130.. :

The date of the notice was 3/27/08 which is exactly six months from the I-130 NOA1. I hope this helps..

            Good luck..

Hi Beth. No good news yet. USCIS CSC also "touched" both I-130 and I-129F cases on 3/28/08 but still no news. I really don't know what's happening and what that change in "Last Updated Date" means.

Hi Romeh, Congratulations!!! And thanks for your good wishes. When did USCIS actually receive the I-130 and I-129F? What service center processed your cases? What country is your beneficiary in?

                              waiting times

                              Cincy,

I forgot to mention that the processing times posted on the website are indeed accurate (in the sense that they are not wrong). But I read in one of the forums (and it made perfect sense to me) that the dates shown are for the oldest files pending in the system and they don't actually reflect the dates they are currently processing. For example, if a case was processed and the petitioner was mailed an RFE, it is still considered as pending and when the system updates the processing timetable it'll look for the oldest case that is pending and post it on the website.

I hope this helps.. Tell me if it is confusing.
