Fiance Visa Overseas - Help

I am a Filipino citizen currently working in the Middle East.My Fiance who is a naturalized and is currently in the US wants to petition me to be with him. However, Just yesterday he consulted a lawyer and the lawyer told him that I have to go back to my country of origin (Philippines) to undergo my interview.......but...I just got a new job and will be under their sponsorship.(my new company) by next month. Now Im really confused if I have to leave this country and stay in Philippines while processing my documents. Or is there a way where I can just stay and have my interview at the US Embassy here? Other requirements from my country of origin will be processed by a relative through a special power of attorney.

We have been togther for more than 2 years. We both met in person twice. Just last month he came here in the Middle East to meet my family. I met his family too way back 2006.Our relationship is solid and 100% love.

If you have a legal resident status in another country, you can apply for the K1 from there.

Yes..I was born and grew up here acutually. But My problem is that I just got a new job and they wont let me take a leave unless I complete one year. Its so confusing....waiting for my hubby to be to call USICS today....hope things will be cleared out.I really prefer to process things by ourselves instead of hiring a lawyer...

As he told you, you need not return to Phillipines for your visa interview provided you are in this middle eastern country legally on work visa, not visit visa.
