OK Gang, my Fiancee received her K1 visa and has arrived in the USA. Thanks for your help JL.

If and when your visa is approved it will be delivered by the following outfit.


It will take all of 3 days for them to deliver to SP, RJ, and ES.
It will take all of 5 days for them to deliver to BA, MG, and SE.
All other states require 7 days for delivery.

As you know Brasil has many holidays so visa delivery may be delayed by holiday(s). Look to see if there are holidays soon after your interview date.
It is in theory possible to pick up your visa & passport from the consolute when it is ready, but in practise it seemed difficult unless you can find someone at TNT that will work with you.

I'll field any questions people have regarding visa interview process.

I am very happy for you and your fiancee.
Thanks for the info. We were afraid that visa delivery would take longer, so we scheduled her flight on the 12th of June.

I just talked to her on the phone. She was in a hotel in downtown Rio getting ready for her interview tomorrow.
Everything should be fien since we practiced the questions and went over the documents and forms together several times.

She will be happy to know that it wil take only 3 days to get her visa if she is approved.

I will let you know as soon as I have the answer.

11/15/07: I129F sent.
11/02/07: Ist NOA receipt notice received.
3/11/08: 2nd NOA received, petition approved.
3/17/08: NOA 2 I-797 approval notice from NVC received. Petition sent to Rio.
4/14/08: Fiancee received packet 4 with Interview date set for: 6/3/08.
4/23/08: I received same packet with copies of all the instructions in English and Portuguese.
6/03/08: Interview date.

Good News!

Hi everybody,
The wait is over.
Without going into details that would take too long to explain, my fiancee got her visa in hand today and should be arriving in the States this friday 6/20 AM.

Now we are ready for the second stage, but at least we will be together to face whatever comes our way.

I wish the best to all who have had to wait so long. Patience and perceverance, your time will come. It feels that the last few weeks are the hardest and seem to last the longest. Just as in a race to the finish line.
