I'm a US citizen presently engaged to a gal who lives in Munich Germany. We are eager to begin the K1 visa petition process, but there appears to be one massive obstacle preventing us from filing. I am legally disabled due to medical problems and currently my only source of income is my Social Security Disability benefits.
Therefore; it appears to me that my approx. $13,000 annual income is insufficient to qualify as her sponsor, according to the I-134 minimum income requirement. I have no one who's willing to be a co-sponsor, and no money in the bank worthy of mention. We cannot afford an immigration lawyer's fees.
My fiance is eager to work in the states and I very much love her and need her companionship and assistance. I have a good home to provide for her, since I'm living rent-free in a nice house where I do odd jobs in exchange for rent. Is there no hope for us to obtain a K1 Visa under these circumstances? Please offer any advice you can. We're at our wit's end. Thank you sincerely!
