    Hello,
I filed K3 for my wife from India in January'08. Her full name is first, middle and last name and that is how I filed it. I did this going by her Babtism certificate since I did not have her birth certificate at that time. Now when she got her a copy of birth-certificate, we just realized the name on it goes as first and middle name which is her father's first name. When we requested if possible to have with the last name included, they denied saying it will only be issued as it is in the school record. Our marriage certificate does not have her last name as well but does match the birth certificate. We do have the originals for Birth-certificate, Babtism certificate and Marriage certificate as well which she would present at the interview time. Do anyone see any issues regarding this? Is there anything I need to do to have this corrected before it is too late? Please advice. Thanks in advance......

I don't see a problem as long as:

    1. This last name has to do with marriage; and

    2. She has or can get a passport in this first, middle, last name; and

    3. I-130 was filed with this first, middle, last name.

      Hi!

      Hello Amir,

      1. This last name has to do with marriage; and

This last name is her original family name and is not from marriage.

      2. She has or can get a passport in this first, middle, last name; and

She does have a passport but they failed to enter her last(family) name in it. That column is blank and that is how I sent a copy to USCIS. Would that be an issue with the immigration process to have it corrected to add the last name in it now?

      3. I-130 was filed with this first, middle, last name.

      Yes.
