Employment Authorization for K1 visa

I got my K1 fiance visa approved and will be travelling to the US next month to get married in June. I wanted to clarify the following.

Can I apply for the employment authorization (EAD) immediately after entering the country or do I have to wait till we get married (approx 1 month from entry) and then apply for the EAD?

The instructions on various sites are a little contradictory and confusing.

Please advise.

You can apply as soon as you enter. But it will take about 90 days for it to be approved... and that is how much time you have to get married and file for AOS, so I would say just go in, get married and file AOS (and EAD) based on your marriage instead of the K1 visa (otherwise you will be paying EAD fees twice).
