Hello everyone, 9 months ago my fiance came to the US on a visa waiver. We got us an attorney and was told we could get married within a 6 month window after the end of the visa waiver. So plans were made and the date was for May 3 of this year.
On May 2 my fiance panicked and got on a plane and went back to England. Without me knowing, now before you all jump on me please remember that we all make mistakes and behind he had left his 7 year old son and was missing him loads.
Once he returned he realized that he had really messed up and of course now cant come back to the US. I believe all things happen for a reason and now he has no doubts what he wants and that is me and america.
we have been in contact with the lawyer again and he advices for us to do the fianc waiver and for me to go to him on a 6 month visa so that I can appear with him at the interview. This is the plan.
My question is this... has anyone else gone through this and how long did it all take before your fiance could arrive back in the states with you. We will be waiting to get married here in the states when we return as we have been advised it is quicker to do the fiance then the I130 ... please let me know how things have gone or if you feel we are doing the right thing.. thankyou so much for your time.
