visa expiration date

I hope you're doing great.

My fiancee just received k1 visa with the following dates stamped on them:

Issue date: 06May2008
Expiration Date: 02OCT2008

Expiration date of Petition: 10 AUG 2008.

My question is, what is the effective expiring date for the visa? I mean, does my fiancee will have to enter the US before 10 Aug 08 or we'll have until 02 OCT 08?

Can anyone help me out here? Can you explain why there are 2 expiration date on my k1 visa?

I am sure when will I have to be present in the US. My fiance & I are planning to have our wedding in Sept. I am planning to fly to the US by the end of Aug. Would that be too late then?
