Newbie with a newbie question. Getting married next month here in Greenland and will start the whole process. I'm a US citizen, she's Greenlandic, and thus a Danish citizen. I see that the fee is waived for filing the I-129F since an I-130 has already been filed. How is this annotated on the I-129F packet so there's no hold up because some bureaucrat overlooked the K3 part and just noticed the lack of accompanying payment?
If it would go faster to just pay the fee I would but since we have to spend a month living in a hotel in Copenhagen for the medical examination and interview down the road a bit we need to conserve funds where we can. Another problem with our geographic isolation, we have to go to another continent just to go to the capital.
Second question: Is there really a pitfall in her visiting the States while the application is pending? She has other US citizen family members in the States and we really don't have anyplace else to go on vacations. We both live on a US air base with no population center so it is both of our permanant residences, except for a house I own in the US.
Also, anybody that's been through the US embassy in Copenhagen that may have advise or simply an anecdote, your input would be greatly appreciated.
