Which Consulate?

Hi,
I am from Delhi and married in Kolkata, India. I want to file K-3 visa for my spouse. On the form I-130 what to write (other than ‘plan to obtain a K-3 visa abroad and adjust status in the US) at #22 for city and country for American Consulate in India: Delhi or Kolkata or Mumbai?
Any input will be appreciated. Thanks.

I would think you choose the consulate that is closest to your fiancee or the easiest to travel to. She will have to travel there for the interview. And normally the medical is given by selected doctors in the consulate city. Whatever you put as the choice, tells them which consulate they will transfer the papers to for further processing and visa issue.

State the consulate most convenient for beneficiary, although I'm not sure why they even ask this question, as they choose the consulate for you regardless of what you put down in # 22, based on proximity to and language of beneficiary and the type of visa involved, as not all consulates process all types of visas.

Once they choose a consulate, you are pretty much stuck with that consulate, because, by regulation, the only way to change a consulate is to get a desirable consulate to accept your case at entirely (100%) that consulate's discretion.

Many thanks for your help but I still not sure about right answer as sometimes back I learnt that only Mumbai US consulate handling all types of K visa or so. I don't want my application move from consulate to consulate in India. Again, thanks for your answer. I am going to write Kolkata, India. Let’s see what happens?
