  • I-129F question

hi all...one question on the form:

My citizenship was acquired through (check one) - It was Birth in US

where will we see the " Give number of certificate, date and place it was issued." on my fiance's birth certificate. thanks

    I don't understand your question.

Birth in the US> for the next blank I put N/A (Give number of certificate, etc)

I don't see any place asking about your fiance's birth certificate.

The I129f is checking to see if you have the right to petition (being a US citizen for example) so they are first only interested in USC birth.
Fiance birth certificate specifics come in at the Embassy/interview stage.

      I-129F form

      10. My citizenship was acquired through (check one)

Birth in the U.S. - YES Naturalization

Give number of certificate, date and place it was issued.

Since this question requires for number of certificate, date and place it was issued and the proof for the Citizenship by birth in the US is the birth certificate. I'm assuming I'll be able to get the number of certificate, date and place it was issued n that document. Or it only applies for Naturalization? (which doesn't state on the form that's why I assume it also applies for Birth in US.) Thanks

        Question 10

Sorry. I'm still trying to understand.

If you X Birth in the US, then N/A in the line just below

If you X Naturalization, then you give the numbers, date, place of the Naturalization certificate in the box/line below.

In your first post it says you got citizenship through Birth in the US. In your reply, you say Naturalized (I think). And I'm not sure why you are asking about the fiance's birth certificate. Are you the US citizen filling out the form? That's why I'm confused and don't know if I answered your question.

I am a USC by birth and put N/A in the line below and the petition was approved.
