I am a natively-born, full US citizen born to natively-born full US citizens, and have a quite simple question that I've found conflicting answers to.
Assuming all goes well and my foreign fiancee ends up getting her K-1 visa and we are married here in the US, and that I immediately file the I-485 petition to register her for permanent status, can my fiancee stay with me in the US, even past the period of the K-1 visa, while the I-485 is being processed / the whole adjustment to [conditional?] permanent resident procedure is underway (as I understand it, this can be a couple years)?
Oh, one more: When my fiancee has her K-1 interview at the embassy in her country, am I, the US citizen fiance, allowed/advised to be with her during the actual interview (in the same room talking to the same person, I mean, not just the building)? I was told I can't actually accompany her when she applied for a tourist visa, so am curious about this one.
