  • Direct Consular Filing (dcf)

Has anyone or are K-1 applicants allowed to do DCF and if so, will it speed up the process?

I have a fiancee in the Philippines and we are just wanting to hurry this up in any means possible, even if that means I have to fly back over there to conduct a DCF. I haven't filed through CA as of yet, will mail it off the first week of July.

    Thanks for any help~

Thats an awesome question, I hope it gets an answer... is direct consular filing what it sounds? Where you skip the service centers completely and file it at the Consulate or embassy? I hope that´s what it is... but it sounds too good to be true. I would imagine it would speed up the process quite a bit... especially where California is concerned... lol

DCF is only available to the US citizens who permanently reside abroad. Even then, consulates have 100% discretion (that 'D' word again) to accept a DCF or not.

If you reside within the US, all a consulate will do is to forward the petition to the CSC based on your physical addrsss in the US. I don't advise submitting your petition to consulate because conoffs are known to flag petitions before sending them to the CIS.
