Do I need to return to the US??!

If I go the K1 or K3 route, will I have to return to the US without my fiance at any point during the process? We want to stay together, and avoid having me go back to the US at any time unless it´s with him.

If I have to go back at some point, at what point (s) in the process do I have to return, and for how long?

It may be romantic, but there are complications with this, which is why no one's answered your question so far, such as whose address you intend to put down on I-129F/ I-130, how will you meet the min. income requirement, who will handle your mail, etc.

Im not sure I understand. Complications? I mean, is there no rule that says that with one type of visa, I can file from Venezuela, and with the other, I will have to file from the US?

Re: address, I am in the process of getting a place for us to live, the lease will begin around the time we anticipate being in the US. For now, can I not put my permanent address on the application? Ie. My family's home?

Re: Minimum income. I have plenty of people who will put in an affidavit of support, in addition to my own. My problem is that I havent worked in the US for the last year and a half. I've been travelling to Venezuela. I do have a contract for salaried employment that will begin when I am back in the states. It is well above the minimum income requirement.

Really, I just want to know which one (K1 or K3) one files from the US (must) and which can be filed from Venezuela, by a lawyer in the US.
