how much longer

we filed for the k3 visa on 18th feb 2008 thru our lawyer. the biographic data was submitted 2 weeks laterand our file is at vermont. all the required documents submitted. i am from mumbai and have to be in usa by october 2008 for my medical licensing exams. yet to hear from them.
does anybody know by when it will get done.
how long does the mumbai consulate take to give a interview date.
please help
