Fiance immigration from Haiti

Hi! I am new to this forum and the website is the best I have seen--and up to date! My Fiance lives in Haiti, has anyone else had experience with Haitian Immigration? I hired a lawyer to advise me on how to assemble the packet but could not afford his prices to do it for me. When I mentioned Haiti he just grimaced and said What a tough one to file.

So I mailed my package to Vermont on June 30 still waiting on receipt notice.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for that link. I did call the USCIS yesterday and though they were nice they could not tell me more than what I already knew. I used a money order so I do not know how to track if it has been cashed. I will wait 2 more weeks and keep praying that it is processed soon. My fiance is not eating very well as things in Haiti are terrible right now, the sooner he gets out the better not to mention I MISS HIM TERRIBLY!!! I cannot afford to go and visit as we are saving for his travel and embassy appointment----thankfully we have email and cell phones without them it would be unimaginable.
