  • Approved I-797 what to do next?

    Hi,
on 8-8-2008 our petition was approved, we got I-797 on 8-12, what should we do next?? Should we send any papers to the consulate? Fax them, mail them?
Help!!! How much time does it usually take to be addmited a K-1 visa?

We sent the papers to Vermont at the end of April, so it took 4 months and 1 week.

Hello. Do not send any thing more. They will send yours case to NVC. So just have to wait.

        Good luck

            Do not send

I was told when my I797 was approved not to send any papers until you recieve a notice from NVC (national visa center) If you send in any papers before that time your application can be denied or set aside and waste more time. I would wait for them to contact you on what to send in next. They say you will have to send in the payments for petitons and after they receive payments they will then issue you a date for the interview with the embassy.

Good luck with everything. I am now waiting to hear back from the NVC myself. If you dont' hear anything from them in 4 weeks you can then call and inquire about your case. This should have been on your approval letter. Please I know how hard it is but do not move out of context to harm you and your loved one more.

              Lupo--
Tamara who replied is getting a spousal visa. Your K1 is different. Your file will pass through the NVC in a couple of days. It is probably already at the Embassy. If you told what country it was I could probably be of more help. Each Embassy has slightly different procedures. But the US citizen should be getting the I-134 filled out and notarized and mailed to the fiance along with tax returns, pay slips, letter from employer...whatever there is to prove the income. Also the foreign fiance has forms to fill out...at least 3. Immunization records to gather. Police report to order. Lots to do and the sooner you have those things, the sooner you will be ready for an interview. Don't wait. Google "US Embassy <your country>" and look up fiance visa or K1 and find out what they require.

                Thanks,
I just got the pacage. My embassy is in POLAND - Warsaw.

I just have one more question:
Does my fiance need to fill out I-864 (financial support) for K1
                or
                ONLY I-134??????????

                thank you for your help!!

                  K1 k2 visa please help....

                  Hi,

I am a Filipina currently working in Cayman Islands. I already have an approved I29f. My fiancé would like to apply k2 visa for my 8 year old daughter, but she is currently in the Philippines. Our plan is to apply her k2 visa at the same time with my k1 visa. If the visa will be approved, I want to go home first in Philippines to pick her up and enter in the states at the same time. What will be the process if we want to apply for k2 visa considering my daughter live in Philippines? Is she going to have a separate interview in the Philippines? Is she going to have a medical in St. Lukes? If yes, which consulate, they will forward the medical result considering I will be interviewed in Jamaica, which is the nearest US Embassy in Cayman Islands.

                  Thank you and God Bless
