I received my I-797 NOA in January 2008. I sent it to the California center as it said to do in the instruction, My NOA was sent in january but it was from the Vermont center. The received date on it is October 9, 2007 . The Notice date is January 9, 2008. There is no priorty date on it. I sent my I-129f in March 5, 2008. The received and notice date is March 25, 2008. I have been checking the processing times for vermont 2 times a week. it finally changed in june and now the process date for I-130 is september 3, 2007 and the I-129f is January 17, 2008. My wife and i have been very upset becaue they moved or case to Vermont. If they had left it in California, she could have been here already. Im sure it happen to others too. I called them and told them i wanted it to be sent back to California, but they said i would have to go to a field office to request that. I have a few questions i am hoping someone can help me with.. My wife is Colombian. I was recently over there and we went to the US EMBASSY to findout what we need to prepare for when they notify her. They let me into the embassy but would not let her in. Well that made me very angry. When i went in there i had to wait almost 2 hours to talk to a american. I asked them why they wouldnt let her in. they said its there regulations and policies about vistors. i asked them about what we need to prepare for. they wouldnt answer me. All she was allowed to tell me was the email to the embassy and i could ask them in the email.. I told them it is pretty sad how they treat Colombians when our embassy is in there country, and i said its also sad how they treat a retired military guy and cant give me a very good answer on my questions.. I dont trust the americans running that embassy over there. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THERE IS ANY OTHER PAPERS WE NEED TO PREPARE FOR ? i also have had a few bad situations here financially beyond my control. WOULD IT HURT US IF I HAD TO FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY WHILE WAITING FOR OUR APPROVAL FOR THE I-130 AND THE I-129F? i feel like everything i have worked so hard for is blowing up in my face and now i am worried that my wifes visa is in trouble. Isn't USCIS suppose to update the processing times every month?? It is still dated July 15, 2008. Is there anybody else that is dealing with the US EMBASSY in Colombia? Any other info wud be appreciated..
