Dear Immihelp,
I don’t know if you can help me but I am hoping you can. I am Brazilian, married to an American military officer. I am currently in Brazil and I have been trying to get help from the consulate but without success. I have already filed the form I-130 and got the receipt number. Now my husband and I are really confused whether to get the K3 or not. The army requested that I showed up to finish my registration by December 1st. I already have a valid turist visa. So my questions are:
- Can I travel with my tourist visa and get the adjustment of status there? In case it is possible, can I still apply for EAD and SSN.
- Can I do the interview and all that is necessary to finish the process for a K3 in the US?
This is consuming so much of our time and we still can’t get anywhere. We never get the same information twice. He is in training and doesn’t have much time to focus only on this. I am in Brazil and the consulate here is of no help. Please, if you can help me I would really appreciate.
