  • married overseas after sending in k1 visa application

I sent a k1 visa application to uscis and it was received aug. 14., 2008. i travelled to the philippines and married there on aug. 21, 2008. do i need to change from a k1 visa application to a k3 visa application now? we still plan on getting married here in the usa when my wife arrives. how will the usa embassy in manila even know that we are already married? i have instructed my wife to tell the truth if asked during the interview if she has ever been married before. i would hate at this point to start the waiting time all over again and switch to a k3 application but also do not want to her to be denied a visa based on any kind of fraud or deception on our part. What should i do at this point?

    (duh)

You are married now, so she is not your fiancee anymore... she is your wife.

So she can not use a K1 visa, but a K3 visa.
