    Hi,

My name is Nilanjan. My problem with the K3/K4 visa is unique. Let me start my mentioning a little bit about me & my wife. My wife is a US citizen who is 67 years old and I am 33. I didn’t marry her for the visa, but here I am absolutely no where with it.
We got married in 2005 & my wife applied for the visa. We hired a lawyer, but we had to get rid of him as he was very expensive. Anyhow, my I130 & I129 both got approved. And finally after a lot of emails & phone calls I was called for an interview in October 2007. I didn’t have my birth certificate so I was called again December 2007. After that I was told that the case will be transferred to the Immigration Dept in USA for their decision within the next 4 months. After 4 months went by I called the Immigration Dept in USA who said that the case is with NVC & when I called NVC they said they have no information. I called Immigration again & they said they don’t have anything. So I decided to send an email to the US consulate in Mumbai, who by an official email confirmed that the case is actually with NVC and when I called back NVC they said the same thing
I send an email to NVC & now the reply was different, they said that the case is dormant for more than a year now. So I had to call them again & now they said it is actually the I130 that is dormant & they have no information on the I129. So I send them a letter through my wife to reopen the I130.
I am lost. This is going on since 2005 & now its 2008. Can anyone plz help…….someone plzzzzzzzzzz help. My email is: [email protected]

      Scam

this sounds to me like a scham marriage and visa center is probably thinking the same. YOu may have to let this one go it's hard to believe a 33 year old will truly love a 67 year old woman. Sounds so far fetched.

        hmmm

Even though it does sound like a marriage for the sake of visa, I would think that they can at least give you an approved or denied status and not something like the case is dormant. I read someone else who said their case got lost between USCIS and NVC and they had to apparently keep calling repeatedly and ask to speak to a supervisor or actual official to get expedited status because their paper was lost inbetween agencies. I think you deserve a definite answer so you have to keep bothering them, good luck.

        Peace,
        Mariah

You know... I just have to vent here.

marriages are of all shapes, sizes and colors. I have heard of many couples with huge age differences, and they were perfectly legitimate. I don't think it's up to us to judge.

That being said, the USCIS, from what I've heard, tends to "frown upon" any unorthodox marriage. I think it sucks, frankly. Who can tell you that you need to be a specific age, or have know each other x amount of time, or have had a traditional, white-dress wedding? I understand what their trying to do. I know there are tons of people who have done this for fraud, so they have to do what they have to do to weed out those people. Who knows, maybe that's what you're doing, how would I know? lol. But it still stinks that everyone's initial reaction to your relationship is something like "67 and 33? yeah right!"

I have to say... if your relationship is legitimate (and there is no way for any of us to judge that) then I'm really sorry for all of the difficulties you are going through, and will continue to go through.

Usually older men, marry younger women... that is expected... but come on... a 70 year old woman and a 25 year old man? that is acceptable?...

how about a 30 year old man and a 16 year old girl?

Lol... 16 and 30? That's illegal, right? lol.

I'm just saying, it's not up to anyone to judge. The guys asking for help, so let's help, not make fun of him.

I agree it sounds odd, but you know, lately, I've just been feeling particularly annoyed at the fact that the USCIS doesn't tend to approve anything that is less than traditional. I just had to vent, thats all. lol.
