Hello there. Right now we're having some serious problem on what to do with my I-485. I have a k2 visa when I came here in the U.S last 2006, I was already 18 yrs old back then. My step father(petitioner) file an I-485 for me and my mom to get our greencard. We've gone through all of that and mom got a notice from them stating that she needs to get a medical. For some reason I did not received anything from them. Days pass and a few months. We check my status online and we're shocked to find out that my case was denied last September 2007. They said we failed to reply to their instructions. But we did not received any instruction whatsoever. We dont know what went wrong. We started calling USCIS hotlines and mailing them a letter and we went in circles. Until now we're worried about what will gonna happen to me. I'm 20 yrs old and still out of status. Is there a chance that I might get deported? I'm just wondering if I can reopen my case w/o paying another fee..just to reopen the case and continue where we left it. If not what would be the best action we need to make. Right now getting an attorney would be our last option. So we're doing our best to solve this and see what we can do. Any help and advice would be very much appreciated.
