  • USCIS changed processing times... what's it all mean?

I saw today that the USCIS Vermont center changed their K1 and K3 processing times. Instead of giving a spefcific date, they're saying 6 months.

What exactly does that mean? Does that mean they diefinately process the apps in 6 months? That would be great if that's the case.

Also... how long (aproximately) does the app stay with the NVC before it gets sent to the embassy?

    Thanks!

USCIS changed processing times... what's it all mean?

Hi there, I am not sure about the processing times. In my case NVC sent our case electronically and by regular mail. So, it was at my husband's embassy in @ 4-5 days probably sooner. NVC told me over the phone when it was sent and received, just have your case number ready 1 603 334 0700. I received the fee bill $70.00 in about a week to 10 days after it was approved.I sent in the 70.00 because it said that they would not proceed unless I paid this 70.00 fee. NVC sent me a lot of paperwork. It was somewhat confusing because I was not aware that I had to choose one (I-129f or I-130.) 1st $70 then $400.00. We did not pay the $400.00, we went with the K-3 visa because I heard that it was faster this way.
Good Luck to you and yours.
