  • what can i expect from uscis after this?

My I-130 Received date is October 9, 2007. I Just got off the phone with USCIS. I told them i saw they updated the dates for the I-130 (february 26,2008) and they said the I-129f is MARCH 4, 2008. They said my date is outside their window now and they are going to do a inquiry to VERMONT SRVICE CENTER to findout about my case. I gave them all the info over the phone and they said give them 45 days to respond to the inquiry. Does Anyone have any suggestions about what i should do next?? should i call 1 time a week to let them know i want to know whats going on? My wife and i feel completely lost now. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to everyone and godbless you all...................

    Try contacting your Congressional Representative

Your representative usuallly has a specialist on their staff who handles these types of constituent issues. They can add some weight to your case. How much I'm not sure because I've got mine trying to track down my approved but missing I-129F. I share your disappointment with our government. I'm a twice deployed and decorated GWOT vet and USCIS still treated me like dirt. My fiance has worked for the US Army overseas for the last five years and we are both still waiting to hear anything positive from CIS other than please wait another thirty days before bothering us again. Kind of makes one lose faith in our government. Make you wonder who actually gets these visas.

You will smile very soon, I'm sure...

WHERE WERE YOU WHEN I NEEDED THE MORAL SUPPORT TO KNOW THAT I WASNT THE ONLY OCTOBER 2007 FILER!

Guess what?!?!?! I have some answers for you!!!!! My received date was also October 9th 2007. That was when I sent my I130. I didn't know about the K3 visa until months later and did not file a I129F until June 27th. Okkkkk so here is what I did.

I realized that my I130 case was outside processing time. September 16th 2008.....just last month.....I called USCIS and made them put a request in their system for me saying "Case is outside normal processing time." Like you....they said to give me 45 days. On the 30th day (October 16th) I saw an UPDATE on the date on my case status online. By the time the 45th day came.....(October 21st).....they sent me a notice which was a respond to my request. The notice sais "Give us 60 days and you will either receive a decision or be asked for paperwork." Guess what!!!!!????? October 24th....USCIS sent me an approval letter for my I130!!!! It was like within 1 week instead of 60 days.....I guess they realized how much that had already made me wait (1 year, 2 weeks). And guess what again!?!?! Today, I received an approval on my I129.

Overall, I received an approval for my I130.....very very late....USCIS overlooked my case and must have forgotten. BUTTTTTTT.....I received a decision on my I129F.....very early.....I thought I still had 2 months to go. WAHOOOO!!!!!

So....dont start losing hair like I felt I was beginning to lose. I also suggest that you write them a written letter and mail it out to the service center. Provide a copy of you receipt notice and say "My case is outside normal processing times. Please review my case. I would greatly appreciate it."

I am sure that things will work out for you in no time.

      Hold you head up high.

I am so happy it worked out with you. As of me pulling oout my hair.. well i have no hair i shave it even though i retired from the military. Like you i did get a letter from them on my request. It didnt show any new info. I did that on october 21,2008. I check once aday online about my case. I also called them again today and they said for me to continue to wait for 30 days. I requested info on my I-129 that i filed in March and was dated for 25 March 08. They said it is also outside the processing time and they said i dont have to do another request for it sence i did the request for my I-130. They said they will let me know about it also, but i have to wait 30 more days.. sigh... My wife is the one that is losing hope more and more each day. She has lost all faith in the US Government, i dont blame her. It's so hard. She is stressing about when she has to go back to the US Embassy in Bogota, Colombia. I have to agree with her. They weren't to Happy to talk with me When I went there in june 2008. They woudnt help me abit with any info about what we have to do when they get her approval papers and when she has to talk to them. But she won't be alone. I will be Flying there to be with her and see How they treat the latin people there. I have heard stories about them being rude and they treated her rudely when she applied for a visitor visa before. Thanks for replying to me. I really appreciate it when people take the time to read replies and help others out.. Again thank you.
