  • K1 Visa advice

Hi. Im hoping someone can help me pleeeaaassee. My situation is this-
I was in the States for the last 2 and a half yrs on a student visa. During this time i met my boyfriend (an american citizen), we've been together for about 2years now. My sponsor could no longer afford my studies, wich meant i had to withdraw from the university and subsequently forcing me to leave the country. I have been back home for about 8mnths now, about a month ago he proposed and we applied for a k1 visa for me. My question is this- how much does the affidavit of support count towards your application being denied/approved? He has a job, apartment, car and pays all his own bills but he isnt exactly "rolling in it" if you know what i mean. He doesnt have any savings either. We would be able to make it but not based on what he has on his bank statement at any one time. Also since we only applied last mnth, its still a long road ahead and we're really missing each other. Would it be advisable if i went over on my holiday visa and we just got married while i was there?
    Please give some advice

if he can not overcome the poverty guidelines for the two of you, then the application is denied. Simple as that. He may want to get a co-sponsor for you.
