  • AOS confusion

I am filling the AOS papers for my husband, but I am stuck on the income for last year. I did not qualify last year but I make enough this year. I want to know do I need to have a sponsor since my income from last year did not meet the poverty guidelines.

I call NVC they say to be safe i can add a joint sponsor, but that is the problem noone I know qualify to be a joint sponsor finanacially. I am afraid to just send my AOS in without a sponsor. Any advise will help a lot.

Well, sound financial situation, I think, is crucial. You could show financial details like all the bank accounts you have -- checking, savings, retirement and property/car ownership. It should basically add up to something that puts you above poverty line. Also show why you didnt/coundt work last year and include pay stubs from this year.

But nothing beats a joint sponsor... friend/relative?
